Life @ Atul

Quality of Life at Atul

Atul is situated on the banks of the river Par in the Valsad district of Gujarat state, 200 km north of India's commercial capital, Mumbai. Back in 1947, when the complex was set up, the village was classified as a "backward area". It was a barren land whose greening has been a passion that has run parallel to the business growth of Atul Ltd. In the last five decades, more than half-a-million trees have been planted in Atul.

The fresh air, clean waters of the river Par and the 1250 acres of afforested land that make up the sprawling Atul complex, stand eloquent testimony to the deep commitment that Atul Ltd has towards nature and its conservation.

In recognition of Atul’s reputation as an environment-friendly corporate, the World Wide Fund India set up a division at Atul in 1987, with the goal of conserving the bio-diversity of south Gujarat. The Company encourages activities to raise the levels of awareness about the importance of living in harmony with nature.

Today, Atul is a lush green and serene complex offering modern facilities without the hustle and bustle associated with city-life. The excellent infrastructure includes 1000 houses with garden, choice of English medium schools, good medical services and recreational facilities such as Badminton, Billiards, Sauna, Squash, Swimming Pool, Table Tennis, Tennis etc, of international standards. The Complex is self-sufficient in water and electricity and has communication networks, presence of four banks and ATMs.

Diverse cultural and social interests are pursued by employees through self managed organisations: Uday for the young, Ulhas for sportsmen, Urmi for women, and Utkarsha for those interested in cultural development.
