The Pharmaceuticals Business was established in 1999 to meet the demand of the Pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the area of phosgene derivatives. The Business has the distinction of manufacturing Dapsone, an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) for the first time in India. It continues to be a market leader for the product.
The research and manufacturing facilities are located in Atul, Gujarat. A dedicated kilo laboratory and pilot plant facilitate the Business to develop and validate complex new products at a rapid pace.
The Pharmaceuticals Business has the distinction of being able to perform phosgenation. It is amongst the only 3 companies in India to be producing phosgene. The Business has facilities to manufacture a range of API and API Intermediates. It also has a multi-purpose manufacturing facility, a pilot plant and a kilo laboratory. Research and Development is a focus area for the business. 25,000 sq ft have been dedicated for research in the areas of API and API Intermediates.
With a portfolio of 30 products, Pharmaceuticals serves about 150 customers in 20 countries.
The Business is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. The Business is US FDA approved for its API manufacturing site. All its facilities operate as per cGMP norms.
The team consists of about 200 members.
