About 230 people work at the site in Ankleshwar (Gujarat). Spread across 33 acres, this site was acquired by Atul in 1988. It is the only zero liquid discharge manufacturing facility of para Cresol in the world. With dedicated facilities for continuous sulphonation, high temperature fusion, catalytic hydrogenation, oxidation, continuous fractionation and other chemical processes, a range of cresols, intermediates and aroma chemicals are manufactured. It is well equipped with water storage facilities, boilers, cooling towers, brine plants, air compressors, a nitrogen plant, a dedicated fire hydrant system, an effluent treatment plant, RO plant and multi-effect evaporator.
A residential colony with houses for employees and their families, a guesthouse and a community hall is located at a short distance from the manufacturing site.
